We recently attended a benefit for the S.P.C.A LA sponsored by the upcoming movie Marley and Me, with Jennifer Aniston & Owen Wilson.
Minx and her BFF’s Paris and Tinkerbell ( Tinks to her peps ) Hilton love to PAW-TY. There is a hip spot in Downtown Los Angeles called SKYBARK. Fellow posers will know of Skybar, the ultra swanky “Who’s list are you on” lounge in the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles. I guess it a play on the name. Except this one, you can have your dog on a bar stool, or dancing on table. Anything goes, public humping, peeing, fighting, barking, licking, pooping, puking – no i.d’s checked, Tinks is only 1, this is a scandalous den of iniquity.
The debauchery continued on the sprawling outdoor roof top, live band, open bar, and vendors pushing more things to send your dog to re-hab. Bowser Beer, beer for dogs, sold in realistic human beer 6 pack bottles, dog dog cupcakes with pink icing and sprinkles, Bow Wow Popcorn roast chicken flavor ( yes, I tasted some, and its better than movie popcorn !) Aromadog, aromatherapy for dogs, we got SHE DEVIL – which the label reads “Feminine and fascinating this immune boosting blend will drive the boys wild” I think I will put some behind MY ears, and see what happens ! ruff, ruff. Hopefully no amorous leg humping from any Pit Bulls……….
As the night progresses, and the owners partake in the open bar, dogs seemed to be wandering and carousing unattended. Hopefully the dogs where not the designated drivers……
We give Skybark 2 paws up, that place has really gone to the dogs !

We will be rolling out the red carpet for you and your canine companions at 8 PM Sharp and the number of attractions Skybark is bringing on is, to say the least, impressive. The event will benefit Animal Haven, a no kill animal adoption center, shelter and sanctuary for displaced cats and dogs, so even the Tiny Tim’s of the pet world win.
Located adjacent to Madison Square Garden, the prestigious Hotel Pennsylvania is a New York City institution that personifies the city’s style, essence and history. Glenn Miller played there and wrote the famous song and band number entitled “Pennsylvania 6-500,” consequently the Penn’s phone number still reflects the song’s title. It’s tradition for the Hotel Penn to act as a media and social hub for Westminster. No matter where the exhibitors and spectators stay, they converge at the Penn for everything dog related. Skybark will transform the Penn Top Ballroom into the “place to be” for anyone looking to bring their pets, cut loose, and have a great time before the Westminster Dog Show commences. The glamorous ballroom meets the high standards of Skybark and features immaculate views that look upon the Empire State Building and the marquis of Madison Square Garden.
The Hotel has a large lower-level conference room that will be converted into an indoor bio-break facility for the competitors. The facility is referred to as “the Green Room” and PETaPOTTY can be found there helping with the dogs’ potty needs. Judy Davis of First in Line Animal Grooming Products and the veteran host of the Penn’s Green Room Salon, Spa and “Paw Mall’ brought us on and PETaPOTTY is overjoyed to be taking care of the prestigious pets business. The accommodations for Westminster entries have made the Hotel Pennsylvania the Travel Channel’s “#3 Bathroom”. The Hotel draws in a great deal of media coverage. There are always paparazzi scouring the place for great shots and videos of the world’s top dogs. The Hotel Pennsylvania is where all the action is, which makes it perfect for an event like Skybark.
To sweeten the deal, Skybark is bringing on a cast of who’s who in the pet industry. Krista Droop, a professional pet photographer will be on hand snapping shots of your canine companions as they strut down the red carpet. Her photos of you and yours will be framed on site and available to take home. Ada Nieves of Ada Nieves for Dogs is coordinating a canine fashion show featuring a number celebrity dogs that will be honored Oscar’s style by North Shore Animal League of America. If that’s not enough, Annie Germani, pet psychic, will be on hand tapping into your four legged friends’ innermost thoughts and feelings. We will have a guest DJ spinning all night And Skybark will play host to a silent auction to round out what stands to be a truly memorable evening.
