I am friends with Dane Cook…..well, on Myspace we are…

I got this email invitation =

“VIP tickets to DANE COOK’S NEW SPECIAL, ISOLATED INCIDENT, taping this Thursday”

Dane Cook makes me laugh so hard, I almost pee my pants. I stress the word almost, so, hey, why not ?

Plus he is kind of cute. I was thinking a Jim Carey/Jenny McCarthy type union of sorts, hhhmmm.

It was being filmed at The World Famous Laugh Factory. Located on Sunset Blvd, here in Los Angeles.

I am seated in a lounge type area upstairs, with its own bar, booths, leather couches, pretty comfy.  With a Wild West Saloon type feel.

Then we are told Dane would run through, on his way to the stage. They would be filming, and to act like you were having fun, at a party…That sounds easy ! my speciality.

So, turns out the room I was in is some kind of secret VIP room, connected to the parking lot. For easy arrival and departure, I presume ?

Dane bursts through the door, in camera in tow. Breeze’s right past me, and down the stairs to the stage.

Only problem, being up in the VIP upstairs room, have to watch the show on a wall mounted flat screen….

I got to say, he was AMAZING !

He got up on stage and delivered his routine, perfect on the first take, not one single, “I messed up, or forgot this or that part”  no stuttering, words coming out wrong, nothing.

He has a talent that few are lucky to have.

I think I am pretty funny, but even trying to record my outgoing message on my voicemail took 20 attempts to say the message without messing up ;-( Dane performance and energy on stage, was mesmerizing to say the least.

As I stood at the bar, giving my info to some guy who promised tickets to his next L.A performance. Dane whizzed by again, poof, and he was gone, into his waiting mode of transportation.

So, I kind of met Dane Cook, kind of saw him live, but on T.V, and he whizzed by me as he departed.

So, Dane call me, I need someone to make me laugh for a change !
