I am all for trying new restaurants, and the other night, I was up for somewhere new.

I take a gander at my L.A Magazine Restaurant section, hhhhmmm, hows about some SEAFOOD ! yum. There it is, Hungry Cat, SEAFOOD. Meow, this kitty is hungry.

We arrive at this set back from the street, and hard to find spot. The layout and seating is similar to a prison dining room, the wooden seats are about as comfortable as sitting on a rock. The menu is about as hard to read and comprehend as algebra, and the print so small, I have to read the menu to my dining companion. Its slim pickings, and cold ( 60′s in LA is considered freezing ! ) I order stone crab claws as appetizer. The arrive with icicles on, and biting into them is like a popsicle. We stall the half asleep waiter on main courses, as we are hatching our plan on how to escape, and get food elsewhere.

We manage to Tom cat our way out and head up the block to Katsuya, I explain to the hostess that we don’t have “reservations” as we had them already at a place that left us hungry cats. We are seated immediately. Phew.
