The first time I saw Trina Dolenz on Vh1’s Tool Academy, I thought, what a sophisticated British Minx ! She  really knows her stuff. I got the honor and privilege to be invited over for tea, a staple of British Tradition. Over tea, we had a lovely chat. Soon I realised, there is so much more to Trina than helping couples on T.V.

HERE IS SOME FACTS ABOUT TRINA YOU DID NOT KNOW –

Trina grew  up in the sleepy British Countryside, confessing that growing up, she “drove her parents bonkers”. Studying Zoology at University in England. Then embarking on on a no frills, partly solo road trip around the U.S.. Believe it or not, in a old banger ( British slang for a piece of junk car ) that she paid around $100 for.

The car made it practically around the U.S,. stopping in Chicago. A stop that would forever change the course of her life. Invited along to a dinner, and sat next to Micky Dolenz of the Monkees. Unaffected by his stardom, having a high brow conversations about Zoology and Mickys childhood aspirations to be a Physicist.

So, Studied Zoology, and ended up with a Monkee, then ?! ( hey, hey, that was clever ? )

Whirlwind romance ensued, with Micky asking Trina to be with him in California. Shortly after, making their base in the English Countryside. Micky was getting into television production  in the U.K.

Behind every great man, is usually a woman pushing -!  in this particular case – Trina.

Not one to sit idle, Trina became  instrumental in Micky’s career. Managing him, and being active in all their business endeavours.

Married for 15 years to Micky Dolenz, with 3 Daughters, Charlotte ( born 81 ) Emily ( born 83 ) and youngest Georgia ( born 84 ).

Mickys “Monkee(ing) around”, was ultimately too much for Trina, and they divorced amicably in 91. Trina shared that Micky is a wonderful Father.  He calls his Daughters everyday, and is very much in all their life’s.  Yep, true, he called whilst I was there.

 A accomplished Equestrian, Trina shared a lovely photo that appeared in a British newspaper. It showed her riding in the company of His Royal Highness Prince Charles ! of the British Royal Family.

When I enquired about any juicy stories ?, I was not prepared how candidly she shared tales of events, and parties. Party guests, she rattled off their names like the who’s who of the music, and entertainment World. On first name terms, with “Paul” was none other that Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney. All told in a very matter of fact, than a name dropping or boastful sort of way. I could of listened for hours.

Hopefully she pens a book of her life experiences, as that would be a Juicy Best Seller ! I would like a autographed copy please.

I got dizzy for all the hats Trina has worn over the years, enterprising to say the least, manager, model, actress, owning a flower shop, Import/Export ( British china to Bergdoff Goodman NYC ) new artist development, production company owner, Antique business, even was awarded a Gold Record ( I got to see it !  )  for her music industry behind the scenes accomplishments, and I am sure I forgot a few !  

Becoming a Couples Therapist, Trina feels she found her calling. Having a large practice in London, England. Recently moving back Stateside.

Soon after being summoned for her relationship expertise, to help fix the tools at VH1’s Tool Academy Brought on board as s their Relationship Concelor, Judge, and who ultimately picks the $100,000 winner.
